pretty town. Continue to Mossel Bay, the site of the first recorded
landing in South Africa by Bartholomew Dias. Post a letter at the
famous and historic post office tree, and explore the Dias Museum.
An optional
detour, to visit the town of George or to partake in a quick swim
in the nearby Victoria Bay, can be arranged.
Travel the scenic route via Wilderness along
the coast to overnight in Knysna - known for its forests and wood
industry, elephants, seahorses, the Knysna Loerie and its large
lagoon. The following morning, visit the famous "Heads"
and later take a boat trip across the estuary to the Featherbed
Nature Reserve for a short walk and a 4 X 4 trailer ride.

In the afternoon
visit the Plettenberg Bay Elephant Park for the unique experience
of touching, feeding and walking with rescued African elephants.
The next stopover
is Plettenberg Bay - a very affluent holiday destination with beautiful
sweeping beaches. Apart from its scenic attractions it has a strong
population of dolphins and in season Great Whales calve in this
large bay. Enjoy the nightlife. The following day take a boat trip
into the bay for the amazing experience of close up encounters with
dolphins and whales. Enjoy a swim in the Indian Ocean (weather permitting).
Travel to Storms
River Mouth with an optional stop at Monkeyland Sanctuary and the Bird Park.
Storms River
Mouth is in the Tsitsikamma Nature Reserve, and is a national treasure
with gorges and a magnificent wild coastline. Walk through indigenous
forests and across the suspension bridge, viewing an old cave en
route. The following morning either enjoy walking in this famous
hiking area, swimming or relaxing or undertake one of the many adventure
activities such as bungi jumping, tree top canopy tours, abseiling,
black water tubing, mountain biking, scuba diving, snorkeling or
fishing.
In the late
afternoon, travel to Oudtshoorn via George and the Outiniqua Pass,
overnighting in an Ostrich Palace. The following day,
explore the awe-inspiring Cango Caves. A visit to an ostrich show
farm is a must - and a ride on an ostrich is an option before driving
